Ans. 5: You can configure outlook or outlook express through below steps:
Open Outlook or Outlook Express
Click the Tools menu, and select Accounts.
Click Add, and then click Mail...
Enter your name in the Display name: field, and click Next.
Enter your full email address (username@ bsnl.in)n the Email address: field, and click Next.
Enter
mail.bsnl.in in the
Incoming mail (POP3, IMAP or HTTP) server:
field. Enter smtp.bsnl.in
for the
Outgoing mail (SMTP) server:
field.
Click Next.
Enter your full email address (including @bsnl.in) in the Account name: field. Enter your email password in the Password: field, and click Next.
Click Finish.
Highlight mail.bsnl.in under Account, and click Properties.
Return to the Servers tab, and check the box next to My server requires authentication.
Click OK.
Follow the steps below to configure MS Outlook 2007 for Windows to send and receive email.
Open Outlook. Select Account Settings... from the Tools menu.
Go to Account Settings,
On the E-mail tab, click New.
Select "Manually configure server settings or additional server types" and click Next .
Select Internet E-mail and click Next.
Enter the following information for E-mail Accounts.
(i) Your Name: Enter the name you wish recipients to see when they receive your message.
(ii) Email Address:This is the address that your contacts' email program will reply to your messages. This is also the address that will get recorded in your contacts' address book if they add you as a contact.
(iii) Account Type: POP3
(iv) Incoming mail server(POP3): mail.bsnl.in
(v) Outgoing mail server (SMTP): smtp.bsnl.in
(vi) User Name: Enter your full e-mail address (eg. xyz@bsnl.in)
(vii) Password: If you wish for Outlook to save your password, check the box labeled Remember Password and enter your password in the text field.
(viii) Click More Settings...
(ix) Click on the Outgoing Server tab, and check the box labeled My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication. Then choose to Use same settings as my incoming mail server
Click on the Advanced tab.
(i) Under Incoming Server (POP3), the port number should be set to 110
(ii) Under Outgoing Server (SMTP), the port number should be set to 25
Click OK
